university surf competition
The original group that found the Cove discovered it through their love of the surf. The university competition is held at Whitesands bay during the Saturday of the festival.
This year the competition is being organised by local legend Pete Bounds and our favourite surf travel company Sponsurf.
£1 to enter a foamy only surf competition with some great prizes, not all for the winners.
Details on how to sign up can be found at Sponsurf.
Take the A487 into St David’s and head north out of the city on Nun Street. Take the first left (before the rugby club) and continue along the road for 3½ miles, passing Pembrokeshire Sheepdogs and the nursery. Celtic Camping is on the left, down a track.
Take a train to Haverfordwest and from the bus station there hop on the Puffin Shuttle (no. 400) to St David’s, then the Strumble Shuttle (no.404), which will drop you off near the site on request. Celtic Camping is 4 miles from St David’s.
What will the competition rules and format be?
The competition is being run by Pete Bounds and Sponsurf. This year is a foamy only competition for University students and locals.
Will there be cash machines?
We are heading out into the wilderness and as such you will have to bring cash.
Is Lost Cove Festival at the competition beach?
Lost Cove Festival has its own Lost Cove for you to find and enjoy but the surfing beach is a 10 minute drive away. The bar and music will keep going through out the day on Saturday.
